Terms of use

Text under legal review: it may change.

Purpose

Gather lets you make yourself reachable through an identifier, without giving out your contact details, and write to an identifier choosing what you give of yourself. The service is published by the BREIZHZION association: it may be interrupted, changed or closed.

Access

Writing to an identifier is free and needs no account. Creating an identifier requires a Breizhzion account with paid-up membership. The holder is responsible for how their identifiers are used.

Rules of use

It is forbidden to use Gather to:

  • harass, threaten or intimidate a person;
  • send mass messages, advertising or spam;
  • phish, defraud or deceive anyone, including by impersonation;
  • spread unlawful or defamatory content or content that invades someone's privacy;
  • get around the service's technical limits or try to guess identifiers.

The association's role

Gather connects people: the association is not a party to the exchanges and, by default, does not read messages, which are relayed by email then forgotten by the service. Messages are the responsibility of those who write them.

A place to get in touch, not a guarantor

Gather is only a virtual place to get in touch: it lets two people reach each other, nothing more. Everyone, whether they write to an identifier or hold one, is solely responsible for how they use the service, for what they write there and for what they do with the exchanges that follow. The association guarantees neither the identity of the person writing, nor that of an identifier's holder, nor the content of messages.

End of membership

An identifier lasts as long as its holder's membership is paid up. When it is not, the identifier is suspended: no message is delivered any more, and nothing is destroyed. It resumes as soon as the membership is renewed. If it stays overdue for more than sixty days, the identifier is closed for good. A closed identifier is never given to anyone else.

Anti-spam reading mode

This optional mode, reserved for members, is not available yet. When it is, it can only be turned on by the holder, expressly, when creating the identifier, after accepting extended terms that will name what is read (only whether messages are spam), the processing provider and the no-retention guarantees. The holder will be able to opt out at any time.

Reporting and closing

The recipient can report an abusive message, and anyone can report an identifier (see the "Report abuse" page). The association may suspend or close an identifier, or an account, in case of abuse; the holder can close their identifiers at any time, in one action. Closing decisions are recorded.

Personal data

Data processing is described in the privacy policy.

Changes and governing law
