Getting in touch

A number in place of your contact details.

Has someone left you an identifier? Enter it to write to them. They do not have your details, you do not have theirs, and you only give what you decided to give.

What is Gather?

Gather is a contact page that opens with a number. Whoever publishes an identifier becomes reachable without giving out their contact details; whoever enters it chooses what to give of themselves, and through which channel. Nothing is ever made public, and the recipient stays free not to answer. Gather is a service of the BREIZHZION association.

How it works

  1. Publish

A person opens an identifier for a given subject and shares it wherever they like: a comment, a poster, an email signature, a card, or simply by word of mouth.

  2. Enter

Whoever wants to get in touch enters the identifier on this page. They reach a form that asks for nothing: they write what they want and leave the contact detail of their choice (phone, email, nickname, a meeting in a public place), or none.

  3. Reply

The message reaches the identifier's holder by email. They answer if they wish and if they can, through the channel the other person chose. Gather stops at the moment the people have found each other.

Three situations

Joining forces after a dispute

A customer finds out they were billed for work that never happened, and sees that others tell the same story. They have no way to reach them: you cannot contact the author of a review. They add an identifier to their own review; those going through the same thing write to them, and their phone number is nowhere.

Being reachable without exposing yourself

Someone hesitating to consult a private investigator, a mediator or a lawyer does not want to expose their reason before knowing who they are talking to. The professional publishes an identifier on their card or sign; the prospective client describes only what they choose to.

Looking for a witness

A car is scratched in a car park. Its owner writes by hand on a sign: "Witness wanted, Saturday 2 pm, identifier". Whoever saw it writes without committing to anything and decides alone whether to leave a way to call back.

What Gather is not

Gather does not promise absolute anonymity. It guarantees something else, more useful day to day: nothing leaves you without your decision.

Writing is free, publishing needs an account

Writing to an identifier asks for nothing: no account, no address. Someone hesitating to get in touch must not meet any obstacle.

Opening an identifier requires a Breizhzion account with paid-up membership. Whoever makes themselves reachable agrees to be identified by the association, which makes it possible to close a misused identifier and protects those who write.

Frequently asked questions

What is Gather?

A contact page that opens with a number: you publish an identifier and stay reachable without giving out your contact details. Whoever writes chooses what to give of themselves.

Who can write to an identifier?

Anyone, without an account and without giving anything. An anti-bot check protects the form.

Who can create an identifier?

Holders of a Breizhzion account with paid-up membership.

Are my messages kept?

No. The message is relayed by email to the holder, then forgotten by Gather. It passes through an email delivery provider, named in the privacy policy. If the holder finds a message abusive, they can forward it to the association themselves.

Is Gather anonymous?

Not in the sense of an anonymity tool. You only give what you decide to give, but the service processes technical data (see the privacy policy), and the association may, under legal procedure, give an authority the contact details of an identifier's holder.

Can a message be read by a machine?

By default, no. A member holder will be able, if they expressly choose so and accept extended terms, to turn on a reading mode that only looks for whether messages are spam. This mode is not available yet.

What happens in case of abuse?

The recipient can report a message, and anyone can report an identifier. The association reviews the report and can close the identifier.

Who publishes Gather?

The BREIZHZION association, which bears the publisher's responsibility for the service.
